Those of you that use OPKs, how many do you use a month and what time of day do you use them?
I've heard of it taking up to a year for some ladies to regulate after the implant. Hopefully it doesn't take that long. If you wanted to start trying the opk's you could but I wouldn't do more then 1 a day until your first period returns. Those opk's add up fast!
@jessig2006, yeah I think that will be best. Do you think I should just start trying them or should I wait for my period?
I definitely recommend buying the cheapie opk's then! Amazom has the best deals on them. I totally understand wanting that first period so you can start trying! It's a terrible feeling. I got the easy@home 100 pack of opk's that came with 20 hpt's for like $22 on Amazon.
@jessig2006, I took a pregnancy test when I was like 6 weeks late and it was negative. Nothing since. I’ve asked my doctor about maybe getting meds to kick start my period but my doctor wants me to “wait it out and let it happen naturally.” I just feel like that’s taking forever!
Have you mentioned it to your doctor? I know it can take a while to regulate but you're already at 3+ months. Ovulation averages 14 days before you should get your period. You could be testing a really long time if you haven't gotten in yet. I might out a call into the doctor just to be sure that's normal to still not have a period. I feel silly asking but have you taken a hpt yet? Just in case?
@jessig2006, so I guess my problem is that I had my nexplanon implant removed March 26, 2018 and I still haven’t had a period. I wanted to see if I was ovulating without having a period. Should I just start testing?
If you are using a cheapie like Easy@home you could start as early as your AF ends. Test once a day around your midday/lunch time (mine is noon). If you want to test again you could do 4 or 6 at night also but try to test the same time of day every day you test. If you are using a more expensive brand it's going to depend on your typical cycle. Someone who has a 28 day cycle will ovulate between CD 13 and CD 15. You would want to start testing around CD 11 or 12 to make sure you don't miss your surge. First Response and Clear Blue opk's will usually have 5-10 tests in a pack. And then you would only want to test once a day at mid day. Never with fmu! Unless the package tells you it's supposed to be used with fmu. But I believe only the clear blue digital opk is supporting be used with fmu.
@jessig2006, aww that’s so sweet! Thank you!!
