You don’t produce milk until after birth but some moms produce colostrum. You could technically pump it if you’re producing it, however nipple stimulation can cause strong unregulated contractions that can put you into labor and potentially put your baby in distress if the contractions are too strong.

No. You can to stimulate contractions when you are at full term but the actual nutrients your baby will need will be released after the baby and placenta is out. Also it is not recommended to pump the first 4-6 weeks so that your body can regulate for the amount your baby is drinking (added: unless medically necessary) Some moms have to go back to work so a week before returning they should start pumping. ❤
