Has anyone heard of vanishing twins? My dr informed me of them and I did some research. I see it happens to mostly to those over 30.. I’m pregnant with twins now and I am a little scared to lose one but I’m only 19 but age shouldn’t matter that much. Overthinking?
Congrats @newmom18 multiples pregnancy is crazy from beg to end and the first few appointments I remember just crying, but so worth it!!! Your little peas look like they are in the same pod 😄I wonder if they are identical 😁
If you saw both heartbeats of the twins, especially at 8 weeks, you should be fine...
I’m almost 35 and pregnant with twins (33 weeks)...it’s hard not to worry. Unfortunately, something can always happen no matter what. I know I have been very worried about losing one or both of them. Especially since I had a miscarriage right before getting pregnant with my girls. Pray for the best and try and enjoy the pregnancy as much as you can 💗
But again, your doctor knows what he’s doing 💕! Congrats on you’re precious little twins. You will have your hands (and belly) full ;).
Yes, that was my first. She is almost 3! I didn’t post the one from this pregnancy because I was 8 weeks and so much happens in a week!
I don’t think the zoom has to do with the quality of the machine, just the doctors preference perhaps? The machine at my doctors office that you get your first ultrasounds on (the ones I shared above) isn’t as good as the one you get your 13 and 20 week ones at. That’s awesome it’s a touch screen!!!
@amysbabies, Oh wow!! yeah I see what your saying mine you can see the 2 yolk walk and arms it looks like but like i said it is a Brand new machine that one looks like my first ultrasound blurry and everything that’s especially why i switched offices. lol
@amysbabies, It was a brand new machine touch screen and everything lol So Dr said you see way more than you would before. My cycle is 32 days
@newmom18, I was just saying it didn’t look like that stage to me, but every ultrasound machine is a bit different :). They use different zoom levels, etc. the doctors/nurses would know. I was just checking that you didn’t misunderstand what they said, when I’ve gone, each measurement usually gives a slightly different date and then they either average or do the one that appeared the most accurate- with both babies I’ve been told different dates during the same ultrasound, until finally settling on one 😂. My cycles are always off!
Age does matter a lot but I wouldn't worry too much it's one of those things they warn u could happen so ur informed and such. Stay positive and I'm sure all will be okay ♡
@haleygragg23, wow. God bless you I’m so sorry for you and your friends lost.
@amysbabies, This was in a different old behind office when i first went 😂 My very first ultrasound but I switched to a different one
@newmom18, hmm are you sure it’s 7w2d in the photo? Typically they look more like misshaped gummie bears. Sometimes you calculate your due date there, but it changes because you ovulated later, and they change it based on the ultrasound. Mine was 4 weeks earlier :0 but usually 1 or 2 weeks is more typical. I’m not trying to be rude :). I’m not an expert.
@newmom18 at 7 wks I'm shocked they wouldn't have measured the heart beat
@newlyironman, It was a brand new machine no one really knew how to work it LOL he told me he was still getting used to it
@newmom18 your welcome, im here if you need to talk or have any questions
@jahmiliapayne, Thank you so much for your kind words and easing up my mind a little. I very much so appreciate it ❤️💕
@newmom18 twins are amazing everyone says its hard but i find it to be very easy you just have to have a consistent schedule. Being pregnant with twins is the hard part you are always worrying about them and if something is going to happen to one, just keep it in gods hands and everything will be ok. Just dont over work yourself and dont stress out and take care of yourself and you and your amazing twins will be okay
@newlyironman, 7weeks2days disregard the date on it not sure who’s date that is lol
@jahmiliapayne, I posted 2 of my ultrasounds. I guess i’m just higher risk but the Dr kept saying vanishing twins is very common and so fourth.
@newmom18 if they share the same sac then yes you are in a higher risk then if they were in different sac
@jahmiliapayne, Wow!! God works in mysterious ways your are very much so blessed. I am so sorry about your son. My mom has 5 girls and she miss carried 2 that she believed was boys. She always tells herself maybe she just isn’t able to carry boys. Just something my mom said she also has a set of girl twins and here I am 19 with a set. I’m so scared.
Yes at 17 i was blessed with boy/girl twins and lost my son and then this past april i had a set of twin girls ( im 29 now)
@momof3qtpies, Identical or fraternal their in the same sac. yes he did say that is a high risk pregnancy he wants to scan me every week
They always warn that it is a possibility. Did the doctor say what kind of twins you are having? It looks like they are in the same gestational sac. They would make them identical. It could mean that it is a higher risk pregnancy. Depends on what they do or do not share.
@jahmiliapayne, So you got blessed with 2 sets of twins but lost one of the first set?
@amysbabies, I go back the 10th to see again. Both times I went they didn’t check for heart beats when we found out he seen 2 cells we were all kinda in shock. I didn’t even get the goodie bag I was suppose to receive i had to go back for it 😭 This appt that will definitely be one of my questions. I have so many now im so scared. It doesn’t feel like i’m carrying twins at all but in the ultrasound it is very obvious.
@newmom18 thank you hun, was super happy when i found out i was having twins again 12 years later
Did you see both heartbeats? Were they strong? I think it’s less common after then point.
Congrats on your twins! Hopefully you get another ultrasound around 12 weeks to check-in!
I had twins at 17 and they were fine till birth ( lost my son at birth) and then had twins just recently. But yes my doctor did inform me about that too
@scidg3, Thank you!! So so so hectic! Yes their in the same sac❤️❤️
