It is true that your doctor can't force you to have a c-section, however they can fire you as a patient just an fyi

Yea I think ur dr. should try inducing you ! I was induced at 41 weeks with my son , I had pitocin first and then the ballon ! Nothing ended up working for me ! I only dilated too 4cm, they said he wouldn’t drop so I ended up with a c section !

I wish you luck! My water broke the night of my due date, which was also the night before my scheduled repeat c section that I requested (original was at 41 weeks) I went in at 1 cm had the foley balloon, made it to 4 cm , they started pitocin, I made it to 4.5 I was barely contracting the whole time, I think the induction situation was a little rushed and after 15/16 hours of labor I had my c section.

@tosha6 I did some research and what I read is they can use it if you're already at least 3cm and it's a very low dose... but now I'm more nervous about trying to be induced the day before my RCS

@tosha6 my doctor said pitocin was one of the only ways to induce for a vbac... That and a foley balloon

@damnkmar I haven't been on here much later been crazy busy but I hope u get to experience having a vbac and I know docs and hospitals have their own policy on what they can and can't do here they won't induce cause pitocin causes contractions to be really bad and therefore increase uterine rupture but my doc gave me pitocin with my 3rd vbac due to my water breaking and labor not starting the nurses looked at him like he was crazy for it but he felt comfortable doing it cause I already had 2 successful vbacs

@jmedina, thats what im doing i didnt know all of my options until the last min and so i scheduled an appointment today to come in monday and atleast try have an induction instead of a c section

I've done 4 vbacs and I hated the experience with my CS and hope I never have to have another one

@tosha6, i have an appointment to discuss my options, if you saw my last post i said i was sad that my doctor didnt discuss all my options with me and made me feel like i had to have a c section so i have an appointment on Monday to see if i can turn my c section into an induction to atleast try and push

Do not let your dr bully you into having a csection. When he says that just say no lol it's your body and there is no medical reason for you to have another one. If you have another apt ask for a membrane sweep. I had a vbac with my second. I was minutes from having a csection but got induced instead at 3cm.

Ur doc can't force u to have a CS has he/she tried doing a sweep are u trying to walk baby out
