I have about 4 weeks left getting induced early because of gd... Just wish I knew the date for…

I was scheduled to be induced with my first at 39 weeks. But my dr did a membrane sweep when I was 37 weeks and 3 days later my water broke and I went into labor on my own. I was already dilated to to a 2 when he did the membrane sweep.

@thegermanmommy Can I ask why he did the membrane sweep??

Had it with both kids... 1st 38weeks exactly because she quit moving. #2 38 weeks 5 days due to weekend otherwise would have been 39 which is what they shoot for because they believe that is the best start

@viktoria211 he said that it either will jump start my labor, if my body was ready, or it would just continue to dilate me and get me ready for labor. My Dr doesn't really like to induce unless it is absolutely medically necessary. He had suggested the membrane sweep as a more natural way of getting things going. Plus I was dilating already on my own. Unfortunately they have to induce when you have GD. So this was a way to get out of the induction. Lol. The membrane sweep isn't a guarantee that you will go into labor right away.

I was scheduled to be induced at 39 weeks also due to GD, but at my 37w check up I had an extremely excessive amount of protein in my urine and my blood pressure was high which never happened for me, so due to worries of it being pre eclampsia I was sent straight to L&D to be induced. My son was born at 37w 2d and was healthy, spent 2 days in nicu so they could keep an eye on his blood sugar levels and make sure they were regulating right, he weighed 8lbs even.

I have GD and docs aren’t letting me go past 38weeks because my baby is already measuring in the 91st percentile at 7lbs.
