I didn’t. It’s a choking hazard and has no nutritional value to it at all. In extreme cases of reflux it may be recommended by a doctor but other than that nothing should be in a bottle other than milk.
@briannalynn547, 6 months is the recommended age for any solids providing baby is meeting other requirements. Lots of doctors still give outdated advice but 3 months is definitely still far to young.
I put cereal in my son's bottle when he was 4 months and it helped greatly with his reflux but it was only a small bit, just enough to give the formula a light texture. I started giving him cereal on a spoon for breakfast every morning when he was 5 and a half months old, I started fruits and veggies them too, Gerber stage 1

with my son so no rice cereal at all. He was 6 months before i introduced any solids though, before that it was purely milk.
