We are going on a long road trip this weekend. What are some snacks, tips, advice and piece of info that can help us? This is our first long road trip with our LO. Plus I'm pregnant. Kinda freaking out about it! Thanks!

At that age I wouldn't worry too much. But You don't want them eating in the car

Build in lots of breaks for everyone, try to find a park or rest stop with an open space for everyone to stretch, and we try to travel during nap/bed times so they fall asleep in the car!

I always take red apples. They do help your hunger lol. Portable DVD player, kid friendly games on iPad or phone. It’s been forever since I travelled with my son at 1 years old but he got accustomed to it fairly easily. He now does fine even on trips that take days and days lol. If you aren’t in a hurry, I’d map out interesting places to visit & use those as breaks. @may042017, I’d also have plenty of snacks and iced drinks (ice chest) where you can grab it from inside the vehicle. I’d read up on historic places & teach my older son as we pass by or visit lol.

Oh I read the 7 as you have a 7 year old not 7 months pregnant. Still might be fun to do that if you’re traveling with another adult lol (the history part). @may042017

@newlyironman really?! Why's that? Lol

@sarahbethk we are not gonna have time to take alot of breaks. We are stopping overnight at a hotel to split the trip up.

@whoswhoo thanks for the tips! I'm actually 7 weeks pregnant. Which may be worse, dealing with morning sickness. Ugh.
Nancy·
Omg I had the worst morning sickness! Zofran is the only thing that helped me and after awhile even zofran didn’t work lol. I took some barf bags that extend from a small round opening from my last Er visit. Take some bags with you so you can vomit as needed. Tylenol. A pillow and blanket lol. Crackers, orange Gatorade, applesauce lol. I craved lemons but I kinda feel it made my ms worse. Good luck! @may042017,

@whoswhoo Thanks! I actually bought some Gatorade :)

@may042017, because they can choke on food if eating while traveling. It's best to eat snacks during breaks/rest areas. 😊

@scruffy.nerf.herder oh geez I didn't think of that.... I was hoping snacks would entertain her while driving lol

@may042017, be careful with Gatorade.... there’s a lot if sodium in it, it can cause swelling especially on a road trip (from experience 😩).
Last trip we did with our girls, I bought a bunch of little treats, kept them hidden in a bag. Every hour or so pulled one out.... short book, small doll, coloring book, slinky...

@sarahgrace1977 thank you for the tips!!
