Same here. My lo is 10m and only has 3 pairs, 2 his grandpa bought and I bought him a pair of sandal like 3days ago so he can start getting use to wearing them. But 99% of the time his barefoot.

I’m with you. My father in law made such a stink about my son wearing socks as a baby to the point where they’d go out and buy him socks. We live in Georgia. It’s hot as balls. I’d rather him not wear socks then sweat himself to dehydration.

My older two always had shoes. This baby only wears them to go out only because she likes to stand using my hands so I don't want her feet getting dirty. I started at 9 months.

No shoes or socks until they’re walking unless it’s cold, then they get socks.

@kae.t, exactly! My boy wasn’t even crawling. It bothered me to no end because we lived with them so it was a daily thing for them to ask where his socks were. He got very hot easily so I wasn’t going to torture him like that. And they’d go out every 2 weeks and buy the kid socks.

My son never wore shoes until he was walking or it was winter and his feet needed to be warmer. Sometimes he still doesn't always wear shoes if we're going out really quick or of he's not going to be walking anywhere

Babies can’t regulate their temperature, so they should at least have socks on if you’re going out in public BUT I haaaaate when people don’t understand that shoes are terrible for foot development in babies who can’t walk yet

Jayden doesn’t walk yet , so I always have him barefoot or with socks when we go out .. it’s too hot lately though

Usually it's better to leave shoes off until they're walking...shoes on too early can delay walking, and it could also cause foot problems. He had crib shoes which were barely more than socks until he started walking, and then he had soft, flexible soles until he was fully walking. Even now, though, he still prefers to be barefoot, and I've given up on fighting him if he's in the stroller, as we've almost lost shoes when he's taken them off and dropped them. If we're out and he's walking he has to have shoes on, but in the backyard he's barefoot mostly.

Mine doesnt wear shoes or socks🙆 i put socks on when it was cold. But now it soo hot & hes a sweater. So idk. Idc what anyone says lol

@kae.t, definitely not outside, but I would say for going where there is AC and stuff like that.

@kae.t, like I’m sitting inside with the ac on and am still warm and don’t have socks or shoes on, but babies can’t get themselves warm very well (I remember my son would sweat like a pig but be freezing cold)

My new born has tons of shoes but hes never worn even one pair with how hot it's been it just seems so unnecessary to put even more clothes on him

I put shoes on my son occasionally when starting around 4 months. Not all the time, not even 50% of the time but I wanted him to slowly get used to wearing them so I didn't have to fight with him to keep them on when actually needs to wear them. Now that he's walking he loves his shoes and will try to help me put them on him! Don't know if it's just him or if it's that I put them on him occasionally so he's used to it but either way it's a plus!
