I really need to start getting my daughter out with other kids close to her age! She plays with her cousin when we see her who is about a year older than her and she has a little friend who she gets to play with every once in a while and he is also about a year older than her. All of my friends that have babies are either way smaller than her or way older which would still be okay as long as she can play and interact with people outside of our little family. It’s driving me crazy! I want her to be able to play with other kids. She has another cousin that is just a year older than her but we literally NEVER see her because her mom won’t let her out of the house like at all. We’ve tried to ask if we could take her to the aquarium or park or anything even invited them to come as well if they were just uncomfortable letting their baby go places without them but nope. She’s so sheltered she literally doesn’t know how to act around people. She just screams and cries and is mean to other kids and throws tantrums seriously every few minutes because she just doesn’t know how to act outside of her home... I want my daughter to make friends and learn how to be around other people and kids. She’s super social and loves to talk and play I just feel like she needs some little friends 😩😩😩

Check out community events for local colleges, nature centers, libraries, and businesses a lot will have free play groups for this age group! We had to move to a new area a couple years ago and this has been my main form of sanity! After becoming regulars at a lot of these events my daughter has made some really close friends that have branched out into play dates outside of those events and it’s great social interaction for us moms too. The ymca is another great place to just drop her off at the day care and play and you can get some time to yourself as well!
