Hi ladies I have a weird question and I know it will probably spark debates. I obviously don't know if I'm having a boy or girl yet, as its very early still, but to the breastfeeding mamas who have sons, did you circ you boy or no? And if so did it affect your nursing experience? I'm nervous because I plan on breastfeeding this baby once born, and my husband said he definitely wants him circed if its a boy, so how did y'all go about it? I'm trying to learn early so I can be educated.

I have 2 sons. Both circumcised. Both breastfed. I’m not sure why it would make a difference regarding breastfeeding ?

@penneflower I was reading and it was saying that sometimes babe wont latch because of pain, or they will sleep hours on end. Did u circ right after birth or wait if I may ask (I'm sorry my mind is going a mile a minute)

I’m pretty sure whatever you read was false if circumcising caused enough pain to cause babies not to eat then it wouldn’t be allowed. Not to mention there would be no difference between breast or bottle if it’s pain causing them not to latch.

All my 3 son's had a circumcision.on the 3 rd day in hospital after being born.. they healed within a week and barely cried after..Its done by a specialist not a reg Dr...mine were all bottle feed 3-4 oz from birth no problems at all...good luck in whatever You chose for your baby

@snowy_owl9, I had it done like 2 days after birth in the hospital. I can’t compare doing it to not doing it but they both latched well and had no problems gaining and didn’t seem overly fussy or anything.

@sherrynygirl still seems like alot. I never gave my middle child more than 6oz at a time by the end of her 11 month.

I breastfeed. And my son is circed. He did have problems latching after that, for like 4 days it was difficult. Then he latched correctly again. Its stressful but do-able...

The only thing I can say from my experience is that I do recall him sleeping for quite a while, but when he was awake he wanted to eat.
