Okay so my baby is three days old and I have had two nights of visitors, I appreciate people stopping by but like 30 minutes max and GTFO I have things to take care of and a baby to keep on a schedule to feed and gahh, my grand parents her great grand parents have been here for over two hours....and last night it was my neighbors for like 1.5 hours. Has anyone else felt this way?

I finally had to lay some ground rules with the grandparents - no stopping by unannounced being a big one. Of course I am happy and grateful that they were excited for my baby and want to be part of his life, and I communicated that to them. But also let them know how disruptive it was to finally get baby sleeping, and then the doorbell rings. They completely understood and were respectful with calling ahead once they realized.

Same as @scruffy.nerf.herder, I had to lay down rules. My dad and step mum would visit daily, and call both our mobiles and landline if they couldn’t get us immediately. I unfortunately let it build up and kind of exploded on them and told them that they were just being too much and we needed time to bond as a family and get in to our own groove. My dad said they were just trying to show how happy and excited they were for our little boy. Definitely best to explain calmly that you don’t want to offend them but you need space.

Yes it was a very overwhelming time for me as a new mom . We finally had to say visiting hour were between this time and this time and nothing else bc mama needs rest also . Plus it’s hard to take care of her and work on latching when everyone is around . Set rules what works for you . I didn’t mind if people stay and help like my mom would help clean dishes n stuff but my in laws would just sit there ass done on the couch like wtf I just had a baby help out or leave
