I’m being induced Friday morning at 37 weeks due to IUGR. I’m scared as fuuuuck 😅 anyone been through this? Induction and/or IUGR?
Just to offer you a piece of mind... I was induced 06/21 at exactly 37weeks due to IUGR, I had an ultrasound 2days before my induction and was told that the baby’s belly was measuring within the 10 percentile. Everything went smoothly with my induction AND the baby came out 1-1.5lbs heavier than predicted in the ultrasound and his stomach measurement was just fine.... he will be 2weeks Thursday and everything has been fine.
I pray that everything goes well with you and your baby.
@brittnylynntorres, I completely understand mama but try your best not to be you’ve done this before. I know every birth is different but go in there ready to kick butt
@jenzuniga, I’d love that! It’d be awesome to talk to someone who’s literally experiencing the same thing! Thank you!
@brittnylynntorres, I will let you know! You can always send me a message if you would like and we can compare experiences 😊 GOOD LUCK!!!
@pkoku, I’m so nervous but my biggest baby was 5lbs 7oz. Ive already got the shots for her lungs so that makes me feel relieved. I’m more nervous for the induction itself 😅 Thank you!
@jenzuniga, you should come back to this post and let me know how it goes! / how your baby is doing! Good luck!!
IUGR can be scary I personally didn’t go through it I know someone. B relax as possible and I wish you smooth delivery !!
I’m in the same position, although I’m almost 38wks and my daughter is measuring about 2.5wks behind. She weighs about 5lbs 6oz now. I’m going in for cervical ripening tomorrow at 3:30pm and an induction is scheduled for Thursday morning
@sandraluvx, intrauterine growth restriction. Basically I’m 36 weeks right now but my daughter is measuring 32 weeks. She will be about 4 pounds.
@princessrose, it’s ok lol & holy cow! I don’t think my pain tolerance is high at all. With my younger son I hurt so much around 6cm I was puking everywhere. I’m scared they’d put an epidural in incorrectly.
@brittnylynntorres, I couldn’t feel my contractions because I apparently have a high pain tolerance (and the belly monitors weren’t picking up my contractions) so I was having contractions back to back without even knowing it. They kept upping my pitocin because I told them I couldn’t feel anything. Once they did an internal monitor they realized I was contraction like crazy and they lowered the pitocin. 😅 I went 12 hours without and epidural and wasn’t progressing like I should, so my doctor knew I wanted an epidural anyway so she recommended I get it just to help my body relax and help my baby come down. My epidural experience was good. I didn’t realize it at the time, but after the fact I talked to an anesthesiologist client of mine and I told him about my epidural because my legs were so numb with the epidural and he told me it sounded like they gave me a spinal on accident. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ honestly, I don’t have any more back pain than I would carrying around a baby and standing on my feet at work. I would even get an epidural again, honestly. It was the best 400$ ever spent in my opinion. But I knew I had to have my epidural wear off some to feel the pushing because they had to take the internal monitor out before my baby came out so they couldn’t tell me when to push.
@princessrose, thank you! I’m just so nervous. I’ve had two natural labors & I hear this is much worse. I’m terrified of epidural
I also didn’t know I was going to be induced, and didn’t eat anything for 12 hours before I was induced (I went to the hospital in the morning and planned on having lunch with my mom after, ugh) and I was in labor for 25 hours. However I had popsicles. Lol. Also, what got me through is telling myself there is no other way. You are having a baby whether you want to or not. And I had a very relaxed attitude about everything. And I had the best labor. It was far from easy but I’m here and I made it. I would labor again. I even had an epidural and ended up feeling some of the pushing and I would do it again. I said I would even be a surrogate mom. Lol. You can do this!! You’ll have a bright eyed baby after it’s all said and done. You’ve got this.
@brittnylynntorres, no problem, you’re welcome.
I didn’t know I was being induced but i didn’t eat before and I was in
Labor for two days with just ice chips . It sucked .
@mommyx2plus1, my daughter was in the 5th percentile, then the fourth, now the third. I hope I have the same outcome as you! Thank you!
