So I’m 34 weeks pregnant and today I was experiencing a lot of pressure , and I told my kids father I missed my appointment last Monday which I’ve called about rescheduling .... my kids father (a wanna be doctor lol) tells me he knows how to check my cervix with 2 fingers and see how far apart they can go to determine if I’m dilated and how far ..... after a day of him asking this morning I let him check and he said I’m 1 1/2 or 2 cm dilated due to how far apart he was able to spread his fingers ..... anybody else ever let their S/O CHECK them and were they right about how it is determined ? Trying to see if I’m actually dilated and if this guy knows what’s his talking about

He’s tried to check but my cervix is higher so he’s always afraid he’s hurting me lol he always ends up stopping and apologizing like 20 times

@lillys.mommy, lol actually made it through to check mine and claim I’m almost 2cm but me experiencing the pain I have I kinda believe him but idk he think he knows every damn thing i don’t trust his fake doctors helper ass 😂😂

Def wouldn’t advise doing this especially so far in your pregnancy, drs use sterile gloves to check your cervix as you could introduce bacteria and pass on infection.

@mimixtmn, really as long as you don’t shove your finger in there and puncture the water it’s not really much different than having sex and lots of people do that throughout their entire pregnancy with no complications.

@lillys.mommy, a penis does not enter the cervix, I actually know someone who got an infection and her baby was born stillborn because a dr checked her cervix without sterile gloves.

My husband has twice. He felt the babies had last time but my cervix was still closed.

Unless my bf was an actual ob I'd never let him check... he wouldn't know what he was doing and likely would just cause me a ton of anxiety...
Also, not sure how true it is, but I've read doctors have stopped checking so early because it can cause preterm labor
