So I went into the doctors for an ultrasound. My EDD based on my last period put me at 8 weeks and 6 days today but when I went in for the ultrasound my obgyn said she sees the sac and the yolk but can't see the baby yet and by measuring the sac its measuring at about 6-7 weeks and seeing just the yolk sac is normal for that time frame. What worries me is that's 2-3 weeks behind what I'm supposed to be is that normal? They drew blood today to check the hcg levels and said it takes a day or two to get the results. I can't stop crying.

My LMP was supposed to put me at almost 9 weeks by my ultrasound. But the ultrasound put me at 7 weeks. I just ovulated late. Don’t stress yourself out! This is more common than you think. Just hope for the best! Which is easier said than done but it will be okay

Same my LMP put me at 8 weeks and some days but when I went in for the ultrasound I measured exactly 6 weeks 1 day. But they found the heartbeat so she didn’t make me do any blood test I just had to come back two weeks later to get another scan.

@raqueliiosiis did they do a vaginal one? The doctor said that for a 6-7 week ultrasound everything was measuring at what it should and looks like how it should but to be safe they did bloodwork.

@aylenrose, yes they did a transvaginal ultrasound. I attached a picture of what the baby looked like. Did they not try to listen for a heart beat?

@raqueliiosiis they did an abdominal one not vaginal you can get a heartbeat on abdominal until 8 weeks.

Hmm maybe next time you go in ask for a vagina one and see if they can get accurate measurements. Good luck
