If I say that I want to formula feed my baby should they support me or what ? Help me mommy’s
@angelinosmommy, don’t give up momma! Hospital knows what they are doing and if she has been pooping that’s means she’s getting something from you! Breastfeeding is such an amazing experience and its the best for them but it also takes a lot of practice and patience... if the hospital isn’t that concerned about her sleeping more than eating which is normal for a newborn then don’t try to worry I know it’s easier said than done but it’s going to get easier❤️ I promise xoxoxoxxo
Yes of course, they have to support you! When I gave birth to my daughter, I told them I wanted to do both. But obviously I only breastfed a couple of times I just couldn't do it. I tried again when she was a couple weeks old.
Do you want to breastfeed? If you do, do not use formula. Just keep putting baby to breast. Let baby sleep. Keep baby in the room with you. Make the nurses giving you eyes leave the room. Contact a lactation consultant. Google the number for WIC in your city.
If you don't want to breast feed, check you and your child out, go to the store abdf purchase infant formula. WIC can also help you with formula questions.
What hospital are you in?
When my lo was born all she wanted to do was sleep. I was harassed to try to wake her up and feed her but through experience and research I found that it was perfectly fine to let her sleep and when she woke she would feed. It took her some time to learn to latch due to the size of my breast but we figured it out and she breast fed until I entered my third trimester in this pregnancy. Yes the first couple of days she dropped in weight she was born 6lbs 2 oz and then dropped to 5 lbs and 13oz as my milk came in and she decided to sleep. The consultants were very discouraging when I told them I needed help but I told them to leave my room if they weren’t going to help me and just give me filthy looks.
Pumping and other techniques can be used to increase your milk supply but skin to skin and latching are the key to breastfeeding. Pumping should never be an indicator of how much you produce. Remember only your baby can reach the many milk ducts around your breast to your arm pits. Pumps can only pull from the ducts closes to the nipple. Any other questions dm or if you want to know more about techniques.
