@ss3mom, breastfeeding can be so hard and emotionally draining but I wasn’t ready for her to just stop 😩 That’s so crazy that your little guy stopped on his birthday

@vintageteaspoon, ugh I know I wasn’t either. The day before his first bday he had a little cold, stuffy nose, stuff like that and he refused to nurse before bed. So on his bday I offered the boob as I always did when he first got up and he refused that too. So that was the end of our breastfeeding. I wanted to wean around 1 but wasn’t ready for him to just stop. It was very bittersweet. I guess I’m lucky because I didn’t have to go through the weaning process but I was so sad it stopped so abruptly.

Sad day! I breastfed until my son was 19 months and I was sad to stop. I still miss it sometimes!

@vintageteaspoon, this happened to me and i found out i was pregnant! apparently milk changes flavor sometimes when the pregnancy hirmones kick in..

@ss3mom, I feel ya 😕 I wasn’t expecting her to just stop so soon. I mean, she was nursing every morning once she woke up, nursing for a nap or 2, and then nursing to fall asleep for bed. And now she doesn’t even wanna latch 😭

My son was the same way. He totally self weaned on his first bday. It was very sad. I wasn’t ready for it to end so suddenly. We made it a year so I’m happy for that but wanted to go a little longer and slowly wean.
