I don't recommend it!! I lived on la's Vegas trail at El Rancho Escondido Apts. The prices are good but the area is bad!! There's shootings in the neighboring apartments left and right, we ended up in NY with my husband's family because there was a shooting and bullets went into our unit and almost hit one of the kids so we had to break the lease and get out.

You have babies and that IS NOT a place I recommend to raise them. Seriously.

It's really not, las Vegas trail is full of gangs and drug addicts. Now I had my child care license there and people would not bring their kids over because of the area. Plus the child care people sends a list of convicted sexual predators in the area and where they live. And there was 54 so I was afraid to even go outside and I barely let my kids out, except for on the balcony or we went to Crowley for Parks.

Now we are moving back in a few weeks but I really don't want to be even near las vegas tr Calmont.

Areas surrounding Hulen st are good. The apartments are good too

@icestorm1123, I keep telling my husband to look around Hulen. I love that area! But I also like the area we are at now but my husband want to be close to TCU

@aubreyandvioletsmommy hulen is good, they have a place called pregnancy lifeline, they have a baby store you can get stuff with baby bucks that they supply, the ladies there are really sweet, and everything is close by, restaurants, movie theatres. He should give it a shot and if he dont like it then he can look close to TCU, does he go to school there?

@icestorm1123, yes that’s why I like that area!🙂 and yes he goes to TCU the thing is we are living out of military allowance (BAH) and his disability and student loans and since they really only deposit that to his bank “randomly” some places won’t accept that😩 and that’s the thing about those apartments near Vegas trl that they did accept the military allowance🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Oooooohhhh I see I see, those areas are definitely more lenient, but if it must be last be Las Vegas trail, not calmont or normandale, that is a definite eager zone. Now the apartments close to the Kroger's. I heard is not bad.

@icestorm1123, yeah I just don’t feel safe making this move, because front the looks of the apartments you lived in and the ones we are looking into moving to are like 1 mile away! So that’s really close. And I know me, it’s only going to take once, hearing gunshots and I’ll pack my stuff and go back home to El Paso. I don’t care if my husband stays behind my girls safety comes first😭

At this point I just rather stay in this current apartment even though we don’t like it because it’s old🤷🏻‍♀️

@aubreyandvioletsmommy that is true, that's why we had to break the lease, and the property manager Alma was not allowing us to break the lease so we had to drag her to court and get a lawyer. It was really tough and extremely stressful. I couldn't do it.

Hell I'd rather old and just make the best of it than new and in danger lol

Right lol. at this point I’m just trying to convince my husband to stay here or around this area mainly because he’s just waiting to finish school so we can go back to El Paso and buy a house.

That would be a good idea. A house is a good investment, that's what we are aiming to do but right now we are just trying to get situated in a place
