How would you feel if your mil refused to say, type, write the name that you picked out for your baby? We’re naming our daughter Octavia and she’ll say baby #2 or change it to Olivia. It really annoys me. She picks favorites over my babies. Octavia isn’t born yet and you can tell already that she favors my oldest. She even said it. She sent money to get Octavia stuff but she said baby #2 instead of saying her name but she’ll say Alex or Alexandria (my oldest) without a problem. I don’t want my baby to feel like she isn’t good enough for her grandmother when we go to visit. It pisses me off and hurts how she’s picking favorites all ready and my baby isn’t even born yet? How would you mommies feel about this?

I love that name!!!! We purposely didn’t tell anyone our sons name before he was born so they wouldn’t be able to shame us! Once she’s born they will fall in love with her and not even think about another name! 💕 Stand strong!

Seriously I just named our new puppy Lucy Octavia so her initials would be LOL. I love the old school name Octavia -- a much better choice over the very common Olivia.

My MIL is pissed because I didn't use a "family name" from her side for my daughter. (I don't know any of them) Just because I named my son after her husband (who I know and love) My older daughter actually helped pick the name and MIL acts jealous or something over it. It's so annoying. She is like that all the time though. Hopefully yours will get past it soon 😕

My mil is doing the same thing my daughter she has bought so much stuff for her and my son she’s bought one thing well technically we bought them she’s like oh I haven’t bought him anything can I give you money for it? And she’s held my son 20 minutes since he’s been born at the hospital and she sees him everyday. I hope yours gets better by the time baby comes. Adorable name btw

Omg I can just imagine how annoying and frustrating this must be for you. This just shows her level of maturity. But I would try to let it go and not affect me, in the end she's the one looking like a fool. As your daughter grows up she will see her for the mean woman she is.
