@michellecolbert92 I put rice In at 3 months because my daughter would literally scream every 15 minutes for a bottle with 1 baby spoon of rice cereal like 3 times a day
Her body is hungry so frequently because it's trying to gain weight. Feed her as often as she wants. Her stomach is also tiny, so she can only hold a small amount of milk/formula at each feeding. Frequent, small feedings are totally normal!
So long as she’s gaining weight and having wet diapers, she’s okay. Don’t give baby anything except breastmilk or formula before 6 months and showing signs of readiness. Rice cereal this early will do more harm than good! The first few months are a doozy, but she’ll slow down on her feedings when she’s ready developmentally. Don’t want to be giving her something not nutritious just to keep her full.
@michellecolbert92 She's only 3 weeks old. She's 1) Going to eat about every 2 hours, that's what they do. 2) not sleep through the night. 3) weight is only a concern if her pediatrician says so and ONLY when her pedi says so.
@michellecolbert92, sorry but that's not good advice. It's hard for them to digest even at 4m let alone 3 weeks. It's has no nutritional value either. It may do more harm than good. If she needs to gain weight just feed her every two hours, that's what my doctor had me do.
@masseymomma16, someone was telling me that it would keep her from always being hungry like every hour & it will make her gain weight because she was premiee
