What to Do When Your Toddler Throws Food and Screams All Day?

I would stop offering more than one thing. If you see she is about to throw the food on the ground grab the plate first so she can’t and then you can continue offering her the meal until she eats. I don’t believe in allowing a child to go hungry but it’s not ok for her to continue throwing her food on the ground. My son sometimes when he is over hungry he gets really grumpy and sometimes lashes out and tries to throw his food on the ground. We usually calm him down the best we can and then usually when he starts eating he calms down and eats nicely.

@kittywearingmama guess imma have to start watching her like a hawk cuz as soon as she gets her plate/bowl and sees me turn around its on the floor, i tried froot loops this morning , peanut butter sandwich, chocolate chip waffles she hasnt eaten any of it its allgone to waste. And pribably in about 5 minuites shes gonna walk into the kitchen and throw a temper tantrum

This may sound bad but, I’d make sure my floor is clean and then make them eat it off the floor.

@mom4m, have you tried the suction bowls?

Give her a "choice" in her meal. Before plating, ask if she wants carrots or green beans, mac and cheese or spaghetti, etc. Then she had some say and control, and no good reason to throw it out because she helped make it. If she tries throwing it, I wouldn't make her a different meal. She can eat off her plate whenever she's ready.

@mlmspm she usually does that anyways lol especially at lunch she throws it on the floor then gets off her chair and eats it from the floor.

@mom4m, what do you do when you put her food down? Do you walk away ? Do you eat your dinner? Maybe if you ate with her it'll encourage her to eat also.

I try so hard not to give into her tantrums but I'm with her 24/7 and can't deal with the ear peircing screams for hours on end. She doesnt give up. Shes Thrown a whole fit for an hour and a half before because i took away her play broom because she was hitting people with it, she hits, kicks headbutts throws things, she understands mostly everything you twll her but if she doesnt like it she freaks out. I cant handle it some days, she makes me feel like i should be in a mental hospital
