How many of you did a gender reveal where you had no idea what you were having?

We wanted to do a gender reveal but I was rushed to the ER with excruciating contractions, and I saw his genitals when they did the ultrasound to check on him so it “ruined” the surprise. I was still surprised and superrrr excited but we wanted to wait until my husband got home from his deployment to find out :/

We waited until delivery.

With my son, I didn’t do a reveal, I just told people. With my daughter, we did a reveal, but my SO, my MIL and I knew. With this baby, I plan to be the only one to know. I’m not gonna do a big reveal, just a small one for my son and SO.

@nomli, how was waiting until delivery? Was it your first? Did you just buy unisex things?

@mokenn13, he's our first. It was actually very easy to wait. I figured it's not like we'd never find out. And it was pretty cool for the nurses to go "It's a boy!!!" (Especially after the emergency c-section.) My family was more impatient than I was. Not knowing drove them crazy. (They all guessed I was having girl.)

My favorite color is blue and the room was already painted pale blue, and I'm not a huge fan of pink, so a lot of things were going to be blue anyway. My plan if we had a girl was to order a few dresses while in the hospital.

If we ever have another I plan to wait until delivery as well.

I love this. It was hard to wait for me because I wanted a boy so bad because our family has only had girls. He’s the first in 45y so I had to know!!! But when I became pregnant again I would like to wait and I think waiting until delivery would be exciting!
