Dirty diaper storage?? Hi there I was wondering what you ladies are using to keep the used smelly diapers in for the day…

I use a plastic trash can with a lid and a laundry bag to hold the diapers. No problems so far. Have been cloth diapering for over 5 months

Actually a closed lid will build ammonia and make the smell of dirty diapers so much worse. Circulation is good. We used plastic and never had an issue. But we also put a wet bag inside to hold the dirty diapers. We used a 10 gallon sterilite trash can with a swinging lid and rumoarooz large pail liner.

Oh awesome yes that makes sense about the lid thanks. I also read you can soak them in 3/4 cup vinegar to sterilize them and keep the smell down is this ok too?

I use a mesh laundry bag from Walmart that hangs on the bedroom door knob, no smell at all!

And my son has zero interest in it since it's been there for so long, I don't worry about him playing with it.

I just use large Bummis wetbags that hang from the changing table and from a hook in the bathroom. Then I just wash the bag with the diapers. Super easy!

It won't sterilize them. Soaking isn't recommended because it breaks down the diapers so much faster. Plus it's messy lol don't know if it keeps down on the stink since vinegar smells really strong and would also still have pee and poop in it. Would be really heavy to move that to the laundry since you would need so much to soak the diapers. Lots of vinegar too.

i use a bucket in the utility sink for the poop dipes with nothing but cold water in it

for wet i use an unzipped wetbag. no stink issues unless

1 someone zips it

2 i forget to start the load of laundry on day 3

I use a tall plastic laundry hamper with a pail liner. It has a lid with a hole in it. I've had no issues with smell at all.

We have a plastic trash can with a lid that I drilled several small holes in for circulation. I use a pail liner in it and have one extra so I can rotate them on laundry day. It works great!
