Stomach hardening?

Did you get a lot of tightening/ hardening on your stomach before you gave birth? The doctors are calling it Braxton Hicks but there are no contractions and no pain. It is happening more now that I'm going on 34 weeks.

I was just in the hospital last night. I was having these every 2-3 minutes. It wasn't "ahh I'm in so much pain" but more like is stop talking and have to breathe. They gave me a shot to stop them and checked me three times. Thankfully they slowed down and I remained closed. They said it was normal with twins and to watch for intensity change. If you're really having to stop and breathe through a contraction hardening/tightening/cramping all can cause dilation. Just a heads up, I'm 33w 3d so we aren't ready for them

I had tightening of the stomach, and brushed it off as Braxton hicks. Long story short, I ended up in the hospital and it was real contractions that were occurring quite frequently..I had no clue!

You have got to be careful with tightenings because contactions are not always painful. Considering I was 3cm dilated and in labour with my first from them I had no pain at all. I gor to 6cm dilated beforenmy csection and didn't feel single contraction at all. The rule my obgyn gave me is. If they last 45secs and you have more then 6 in an hour you go in. Lay on your left hand side and drink plenty of water over an hour and if that does not stop them go in. If they are quick and come and go throughout the day then nothing to worry about.

I get stomach hardening with actual contractions. I thought it was BH but during my non stress test they determined they were actual pre term contractions and gave me two shots of meds in the arm to stop them. My stomach seems hard most of the time! I'm at 32 weeks.

They are BH. I have them now at 23 weeks, it's very normal. I've had them with all 3 of my pregnancies and I've never had them hurt. Some people's do but not mine.
