Birth plan...are you all writing them? I have one started but I just want to be sure that it will be…

I have one. Just make sure to print out several copies. Maybe even put one on the door.

I made a birth plan but by the time i got to the hospital i didnt care about it anymore lol. I was just so exited that i was about to meet my little Neosha

I had a birth plan with my first. All natural. The nurse was great because she super respected it. To the point when the pitocin was to much for me to handle I didn't get my epidural for hours after requesting it. I have never made a birth plan again. I am 100% open to whatever happens, happens and if things need to change I am good with it as long as it's in the best interest of my baby first and me second. All that matters to me is that little man gets here safely 💙

By the time you’re in labor you honestly wouldn’t care , to much pain ...

@jessig2006, that’s how I feel about birth too. You can plan something, but maybe it’s not the best when the time comes.

@penelope127 exactly lol I was so convinced that I knew better. Boy oh boy was I wrong. But I can not thank the nurses and doctors enough who helped me avoid a c section. I had GBS and had to deliver within 18 hrs of my water breaking. With Kallan I had them place the epidural right away. I got in a wonderful nap and I was singing and joking with my doctor between the sets of pushing. I only had one rest between the sets and he was out. I am curious to see how this one goes! Jensen was 16 hrs from start to birth and Kallan was just under 8 hrs lol

@jessig2006, my friend went into labor really wanting a natural birth. After 12 hours of labor, her baby started to get stressed. They said she had to get a c-section. It’s not at all what she wanted, but she didn’t have a choice because the baby was stressed. Turns out baby was stuck! she never would have made it out, and would have created a worse situation if they kept going on.

So it sounds like I should make my birth plan just so what I am hoping for is clear and upfront but also if they come in and tell me something has changed and I have to have x happen obviously be aware of that possibility (which I had already intended to be conscious of).

@heilwife317, yes I would. I feel sometimes it’s best to let the medical professionals do what they do if it’s best.

@heilwife317, I would also have an alternative birth plan as well just in case you need a csection.

You never know. It happened to me and I was not prepared in the least
