So our sweet fur baby Steve passed away a few months ago it's been hard but we decided to add another fur baby to our family a lady who rescues dogs around the community told us she had tons shes willing to adopted out we just had. to stop by well we went by this morning and she handed us a application and a contract before we even got to look at the dogs she told us it would be $40 just to get the application looked at I thought that wasn't to bad but the adoption fee is $300 again not to bad but whatever dog we choose we have to pay the vet bill and set up and pay for five weeks in advance to be seen by the vet we also have to sign a contract saying our dog will be seen twice a month by the vet and we will have to give a donation once a month to her dog rescue or our local animal shelter.now I know some of the dogs had a hard life and she wants to make sure they go to a great home and they are healthy our Steve went to the vet every other month.sadly we will have to keep looking I love what she's doing to the dogs but we just can't afford to pay everything up front

That sounds ridiculous. She seems to be doing it for the money and not for the dogs, otherwise she wouldn’t be making people pay that much. If you go to a local shelter the dogs are usually $100-300, but they come fully vetted, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered. You don’t have to make a donation every month and they don’t require vet visits. Dogs don’t even need to see a vet that often. Yearly check ups is pretty much the norm, and vets around my area charge a wellness fee every visit. For me to take my dog to the vet twice a month would cost me $90! The lady you spoke to is scamming you.

@glencoco that's what my husband said we got our cat Steve from her and all she asked for him was $40 we have a date night coming up we are going to stop by the animal shelter and talk to them

A couple months ago someone took my brothers dog while it was outside useing the bathroom and took it to her well the lady would not let my brother give her back my brother had proof and everything but she said when she got the dog she was about to die (lies) and that she took her to the vet she said he couldn't have her back until he paid her $800 the vet bill and keeping fee

I adopted my dog from a local shelter and none of those things are required that’s insane! they do a half off deal in October and that’s when we got her we paid $85 dollars and that’s was with her vaccinated and spayed.

@glencoco my brother went to the police and all they said was to just pay her the $800 everyone in town looks up to her for rescueing dogs Im all for saving animals but never would I even take someone's dog and hold it hostage
