My daughter is 4 and my son is 14 months. My daughter keeps asking for a bunk bed. Her and her brother will eventually share a room. He’s still in our room because he doesn’t sleep through the night. But I keep going back and forth on the bunk bed... I don’t know why, I know it’ll be good because they will have to share a room. But then I think of the whole transition to a big boy bed and I’m afraid..lol
Would you just go ahead and get the bunk beds?

I personally would buy the bunk bed.
Perhaps getting a bunkbed with a trundle bed underneath would make you less anxious about the big boy bed transition? He could sleep on the trundle in the begining, since it's so low to the ground.. or you could pull out the trundle at night while he's sleeping in the bottom bunk and use the trundle as a cushion if he rolls off the bed.

@newlyironman, haha yeah my daughter wouldn’t jump. But I would also make sure she understood that she couldn’t. Haha

@laywatz, that’s what I was thinking too. I also think it’s a good idea for the bunk bed because I don’t want to have to transition him in different beds.

I would get a bunk bed that separates. Then when they are older put them back together. 4 is way too young to sleep on a top bunk, or risk a toddler climbing up it.
