Question.... my Dr.told me to start giving the baby water and introducing sippy cups with it. I have every sippy cup and they are all the starter sippy cups. No matter which one I use this poor baby chokes terribly. I don't mean just like a cough hear and there he literally is gasping for air. Idk what im missing but does anyone have any tips or should I just hold off for now?

You should hold off. If he’s choking he could dry drown. Before a year old anything besides breast milk or formula isn’t needed. The sippy cup flow might be too fast for him right now.

@glencoco I def want to hold off. That shit is scary and god forbid something happen😔😔. I did check the flow on all the nipples and they are very slow but he still just can't get it down and I would just rather do the formula like you said. Thank you for responding 😊

Water isn’t necessary at that age. You *can* give up to 2oz a day when you start solids, but it’s not necessary.

@laniejay yeh I didn't think it was either but my Dr was like give him water in a sippy cup now. And I was nervous to start it to begin with now forget it!
