Have u been diagnosed with GD? If not I suggest u fast for 12 hrs prior to appt. The 1st drink is ok kinda like flat orange soda, BUT if u dont pass the 1st test the 2nd one is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE 🤢🤮

Make sure you know whether you are to fast for 12 hours or not. It WILL change your results. Mine I was told to eat so the night before I stuck with good carbs only (OB recommended) and the morning before I had a slice or buttered wheat toast (she suggested toast and eggs but I didn't have time). I went in drank the flat orange fanta flavored drink (which I thought tasted good) and later the next day I received my GD passed results! :)

Avoid: all sugary foods the day before (again OB told me this).

And just breath...you will be okay either way! :)

In regards to what to expect at the glucose test: I really liked the orange drink. I felt very lightheaded and dizzy while waiting the hour. I left feeling like crap with a headache. I stopped at McDonald's and got a chocolate shake afterwards for some odd reason and then I went home and napped for 4 hours. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but I'm definitely not excited to do it again at my next appointment.

Yeah I have it, I’m managing it with diet. Its not hard but its not fun LOL! Having GD and not being able to satisfy cravings is torturous!!

Wow cause I get light headed as it is and I'm only 7 weeks and 4days

@heilwife317, is 12 hours the normal fasting time? My doctor told me I only had to fast for 3 hours before hand.
