My sons two months old and is always trying to put his thumb in his mouth 😭😭 how did you moms stop…

Most moms or doctors dont recommend doing that but for so early

@elijahsmom, I dont see why it wouldn’t be a recommendation? He has a pacifier lmfao . I can take his pacifier away, I cant take his thumb away and would rather break the habit before it fully starts . II’ve never heard of it being an issue to try to make sure your kid doesn’t suck their thumb lol

Kids go through a stage of putting their fingers in their mouth, he’s probably just realising he can at this age. Or he may be starting to teeth a little bit. I’d wait and see if it does start to become a habit, he’s really to little to know what he’s doing.

@mariapb, he is teething he has been for like 2 weeks now , but he’s started sucking his thumb before he was a month. And like I know its not just cause he found out he can but like as soon as the pacifier falls out he puts his thumb in lol

@briannalynn547 I also read somewhere that it's just part of their physical development. Learning about hands or self-soothing or something.

@erikak, I just don’t want it to be something permanent , my 40 year old aunt literally still sucks her thumb.

@briannalynn547 it happens, but I don't think it's super common? I constantly worry about things like that too, but honestly, our babies are just learning and changing so quickly right now! Everything is a phase 😊 my SIL was worried about thumb sucking too and she just took the hand out of her baby's mouth when it went in, so that might help.
