I know it's recommended no solids till 6 months but I plan on doing baby lead weaning and my daughter is 4.5 months and absolutely stuck on food. At first I thought she was just teething but this girl literally wakes from her sleep if we bring food into the room. She used to be comtent with getting boob while we eat but now she screams and screams so I started letting her hold veggies like carrot sticks and snow peas while we eat and she doesn't really eat it she just jams it on her tongue so I'm asking is that okay for her since she's not actually eating it? I just think it's nice to let her explore and think she's eating like us

She could be teething and just want to chew on something. I would try letting her chew on teething toys while you're eating instead. I know Walmart sells some that looks like food. 😂 With her being so little if she happened to chew threw it she could choke so I wouldn't let her personally. You're supposed to wait till about 8-9 months for baby led weaning.

I started my son on solid stage one foods at 5 months, I also would let him chew on thick carrot sticks and even pickles or celery around then when he would be teething because he wanted it but I always kept a close eye on him and made sure he wasn't biting through and getting chunks off. If he began to I'd take it away and give him a new piece

@goodleah I saw those toys at walmart lol and I didn't know the age for blw was later than starting solids. She has a lot of teething toys but when we have food its like those don't matter anymore. Not even the boob. I feel bad now that I've already been doing this, she's going to be so mad at dinner

@ladyblauvelt.skysmomma that's what I've been doing. I watch her very carefully but she doesnt even try to gum it she just lick it or pushes the food on her tongue. I was wondering if at this age it can mess with her tummy with the whole open gut thing

The timing for blw isn’t different 6mo and older is fine. It might be teething or baby might be about ready to hit a growth spurt or maybe having a leap. Check out wonder weeks if you haven’t yet

Maybe try those mesh teethers with frozen breast milk (in ice cube form).
