I've been using shea moisture on my son's hair and didn't realize it was an ethnic product until a friend told me , but I love it ! Smells so good and now my mom and sister use it for themselves on their curly hair . So moisturizing

Shea Moisture is what i used to go back to my natural hair. It was damaged so bad and had no curls now I’m loving it long and curly. It took about a year and a half for it to start being very healthy

@denisse.m, thank you so much 😊 I think that's what imma go with

@tristansmama2015, it worked so good, i still use it and i also use Cantu products but i stared using it after my hair was getting healthy. If you go to Walgreens a lot of times they have sales on them. I be grabbing a lot lol

You'll have to play around with products to find what works for you. But don't switch to a new product until you give the old one at least 4 weeks to see if it works. And make sure you do a deep condition before starting new products and at least once a month. I used to use Cantu but they changed their ingredients a few months back and now their products dry out my hair so I'm in the process of finding a new product I love. I'm currently using Shea Moisture and so far so good! (My profile pic is my real hair!)

@mulatto_mama, what about on days when I want that straight look? What should I use? I don't use a lot of heat now I probably use heat twice a year

@tristansmama2015 There are tutorials on YouTube that you can use for the straight look. There are a handful of methods. Pick whichever works best for your hair type. I haven't used heat in YEARS. I used to keep my hair straight with a flat iron and it was incredibly unhealthy and broken. YouTube has been my bff through this journey.

Absolutely. Hair journey isn't just about changing shampoo and conditioner. It's a lot of work. I would also suggest looking for a regime that fits your schedule. Both a daily one and a monthly one. Find out your hair type (3a, 4a, 3c, etc...) and then hunt through YouTube to find tutorials on how best to manage your hair type. It'll help you create your regime. For example, my hair type gets dry faster so my daily regime and products are more oil/moisturize based.
