My OB prescribed me a pain med and she gave me two chooses and I picked the one that wasn’t as strong and might slightly regretted that decision because I am crying from how much pain my mouth is in right now!! And I called the oral surgeon office and they said it’s normal and I just have to wait for it to heal 😭😭 I’m on antibiotics every 6 hours because there was an infection underlying the wisdom tooth because it came through the gum and reason why I had to have it removed and reason I am in so much pain..ugh! I better not be getting dry socket..

A few days of strong narcotics isn’t really something I’d be worried about. The stress of being in severe pain is far more detrimental!

@squishymommy1, can’t really change my mind on what I picked I don’t like strong narcotic and refuse them every time I don’t like feeling out of it and it’s jsit me and my son right now and I can’t afford to not be able to take care of him

Once they diagnose dry socket, the treatment makes it almost instantly better

@paigerue2013 like hot lead on my jaw bone. Excruciating pain that even percs didn't take the edge off. Would have rather given birth again

@newlyironman, my pain isn’t that I mean it’s excruciating and norco isn’t even taking the edge away but it’s more throbbing pain so I must just be in the healing process! Sorry you went through that though! That sounds horrible!!

Some things that helped me i had 2 teeth pulled and had to have 4 wisdom teeth cut out (same time),tea bags for 1 make a cup of tea put tea bag in fridge then place it over your sockets when its cold, warm salt water rinses and ICE! (Outside the mouth) i dont use pain medications so first 3 or 4 days really really sucked but whatever you do dont spit i know how hard it is to want to to spit with all that dang drool and dont suck anything 😒 best of luck but itll be healed soon

@paigerue2013 i hope it heals quick and some of that relieves it! First 3 days are the worst!
