So, my toddler son got sent to the office today for stratching a girl in the face. Very disappointing. I feel terrible for the girl and her parents. We have talked to him the best we can to a 2 year old - after the incident has occurred in a different setting... He was crying and all. But then we bathe him tonight and find several stratches on his chest. Cleary they don't know what happened. And maybe they are defense wounds from her? I dunno.
We will be having a talk on Monday at the center. My son plays, sometimes ruff, but is not upfront agressive unless others are displaying similar behavior and he thinks it's playing.

At this stage they are still trying to find a way to communicate, so it hard to show their feelings when another child takes something from them or tries to hit them 1st. I seen this 1st hand today with my 2 year old son and another child. She when to hit him and he flipped out(hulk) I had to grab him.

If he has several scratches to her one then I’d think she was the aggressor. He probably gave her a swat to stop her from clawing at him. All assumptions but at the very least it does show that they don’t actually know what happened. They’re both still innocent babies though so the biggest deterrent is adult supervision...
