Reflux?

Sounds like reflux.

Are there ways of helping him?

It could be normal. The valve that closes off the stomach from the esophagus is commonly underdeveloped in newborns so stuff can come back up very easily. Burp him often during feedings and hold him upright for 30 minutes after each feed. Bring it up with your pedi at your next appt.

Babies have spit up issues up until 6 months old. Some use medicine like ranitidine prescribed by their pedi to help them. However if your kiddo doesnt seem to be in pain, like spit up but not screaming or anything then id say you just need to stock up on some rags and keep them on you all the time. Athena spit up CONSTANTLY until she was 6 months old. We never went anywhere without a rag, but she didnt hurt so i didnt bother giving her medicine.

@vvrobinson, thank you, I plan on discussing it with his pedi Wednesday. Just so she knows what’s going on with him. He’s not showing signs of pain, it just comes out.

@mahaylavanzile yeah its totally normal for them. Dont worry and seeing a pedi is always the best way to go
