I've posted about this before, and what I thought was causing the problem but I really don't know anymore. McKenna is beyond fussy at the breast. She'll eat for a minute or two, then stop and cry and cry. I'll give her, her pacifier to try and help her calm down and that works but only for a short time and then she wants to eat. But she won't latch again, cause she's so upset. If she does latch, it's only for a couple minutes again. I thought this was due to fast let down, now I'm not too sure. I had a nipple shield that I would use when she's like this, but I lost it. ? she's gotten a bottle once, and she did perfectly fine with that. She eats fine in the night. But all through out the day, this is usually how she is. When I brought it up to the Dr at her 1 month check up, she said babies usually get fussy between 4 and 6 weeks. I just have no clue what to do or think. I don't want her to get used to bottles but I'm so stressed with how feedings go.

Are you using a different nursing position at night like lying down? Then that could be the fast letdown problem.

@pp no, I'm not using any different positions at night. She does best with the crowd craddle hope and that's what we use at all times

Is it a relatively new issue? If so my DS is going thru the same thing. He used to latch and nurse 20-30mins now he’ll latch for about 2-3mins and then start squirming and hitting my chest while unlatching. It’s only been about 2-3 days of this but it’s been rough. I’ve started just burping him and giving him a break when he does this. Sometimes I’ll switch breasts but it seems like often his tummy is hurting and he needs to burp. It’s still not a perfect system but we’re working on it. You’re not alone!

It's been happening since she was about 3 weeks old. I also give her a break, and come back with first sign of hungry and it doesn't always work. I'm glad I'm not alone though.

My son did the same thing for about 2 weeks but it just passed with time. I know it doesn't seem like it but it will get better. Hang in there mama you're not alone!
