This is for my working mamas out there. So I have not yet filed for maternity leave or whatever you call it. And my boss just told me that my last day is at the end of this month because she’s already hired someone to cover the front desk I was a care giver before I was at the front desk and I switched with my friend because she wanted to go back to caregiving now even though I’m in pain I know not to push myself too far but I still need to work because I have rent and I have bills and who knows how long the disability will take to go in affect or if I even qualify and that’s what I’m afraid of. They’re saying I can’t file for disability till I’m completely stopped working but is there a way I can get the process started ? And also do I need to stop working or can my boss put me in another position since it should be my say when I stop
I’m not even sure how many hours I have worked honestly I mean it should be at least that I been working since November I’m just nervous that I won’t be able to do anything at work because of my boss and then I have bills and stuff to still pay.
You need to call FMLA to see if you’re covered. If you work over 1250 hours you’re covered in the state of California. And then should tell you the rest how to get paid but it does take a while to go in affect. Currently dealing with this. 877-365-2666
If you have PTO you should be good right away though.
