Is anyone here well versed in cloth diapers? We are renting a house and we have hard water. The last place we rented had hard water as well, but Tide detergent worked well enough without needing to use Calgon.
I’ve noticed the past two times I’ve washed the diapers, some of them still smell like pee. No barnyard or ammonia smell, just pee. My wash routine is spot on and nothing has changed except this new rental house.
Will I need to strip my diapers or can I just do 4-5 washes with nothing but Calgon? I’ve never had to strip them so I don’t really know the process on what to do there if I need to.

@laywatz, Thank you. I’ve used that site for my washing instructions, detergent and diaper cream. So I’ve got all of that down pat. I’m just wanting some advice from someone who has dealt with just the pee smell. And if I can just use Calgon instead of stripping. 😩

@nerdymommyplus2, correct. No ammonia smell at all. And yes I do. I clean it the 1st of every month. The diapers have been fine until the past few days. That’s when I noticed they smell like pee, even after washing. So I’ve done a double wash to get the smell out.

What's your routine. I used to follow fluff love but they ruined my diapers. I got detergent buildup.
Is your water hard?
You can try grovoa mighty bubbles. A 10 pack is 10$
Wash in hot about 1-3 times , however much you need.
I'm getting mighty bubbles to strip yet again. ....
ALL liquid caused build up again....
