But best carseat for tall toddlers?? Ds is 33 lbs and 36in (last time he was measured). We can't afford a super expensive one right now, money's tight and were struggling. But he has to have something safe.
Eta: we have the Graco contender 65 (headrest Styrofoam popped off) and the safety first guide 65 (almost at height limit)

The Graco E2fit often goes on sale on amazon for $124 if you’re not particular in color.
There are less expensive seats- are you forward or rear facing?

@pumpernickel @laniejay he's forward facing, gets EXTREMELY carsick rear facing now. I honestly don't care about color as long as it's safe. If I could get the extend for 124 is buy it in a heartbeat

@kbbaybee16 unfortunately we don't have any close. The closest one is a 2 hour drive and they've sold out of all car seats. I've called and asked.

@cprater0033, if it’s within your budget I’d get it. Head adjusts, turns into booster, and she said her son doesn’t get too hot in it like another seat they have

Walmart usually has cheap car seats. They should say on the box what the limits are. I know they have one that’s like $40 but I don’t know what brand or restrictions it has.

If he’s forward facing, you can look into harnessed boosters. Let me see if I can pull up an ideas

You can save $ by getting a seat that starts forward facing. When you get the convertibles that rearface also, they cost more.
Super budget friendly is a cosco finale - $40-50 depending on color.
Graco Wayz, or Graco Atlas. I’m personally not a fan of Evenflo seats, but some people like them and there’s a few options for those.

@laniejay thank you! As fast as he's growing I think we're going for one of the harness boosters that can convert. My so doesn't understand anything about it so he's just going off what I tell him. I'm leaning towards the Graco nataluis 80, it goes up to 80 lbs with the harness then of course switches to the high back and backless booster up to 120 lbs, if I remember right. It's on sale for 95.99 right now too on their website. I'm afraid if I go with a rear then forward that he'll outgrow it quick and then I'll be back to square one.

@cprater0033, oh yes, a harness that converts to a booster is what I meant. I just meant don’t go for the ones that start at the infant phase. The nautilus is good too. I just got the Chicco MyFit, but I got it at BRUs on clearance.

@laniejay I've been wanting a chicco for forever. We just never could get ahead enough to get one or find it on sale near us. Hopefully so gets this job that's had us in a bind with all the training and we don't have to struggle like we have been the last few months.
