How many of your spouse or the dad of your baby got paid family leave and for how long? Hubby wants to apply for it just in case since I will need help with my 2 year old and the new baby. But he doesn’t know if his work approves of it or can he just get it through the disability place where we file our claim?

My husband can get up to 6 weeks off from his work for paternity leave, but’s it’s unpaid. He would have to file for FMLA (I think) through disability. But it’s nowhere close to what he makes, so it’s not worth it for us.

In CA it’s 6 weeks off with FMLA which is just saving your job for when you return. Then he would file the same way a mother files for maternity leave. You get 55% if your pay every 2 weeks. Just went through it in December when our son was born

Yea over here in ca it’s 6 weeks.. but I think he has to be at his job for at least one year (I may be wrong).. he has up to 1 year to take the 6 weeks off.

My husband gets 8 weeks of paid leave. He had to be with the company for a year though. Maybe it depends on the job as well? Not too sure

My husband gets 7 weeks full pay through his job. He has up to a year to take it off. He will be taking 3 weeks off when she’s born and the remaining 4 weeks off after I go Back to work to delay putting her in child care. We’re in CA and it def depends on their job and how long they’ve been there. Your hubby will need to speak to his HR rep to see if he qualifies for It.

It's 6 weeks in California, but my hubby never took it cuz it's less pay and we can't afford for both of us to have huge pay cuts.
