Anyone have a gentle c-section? I am looking more into it, I have to have a surgery due to delivery/healing complications with my son and c-section will be my best bet for no more damage before I have to have this surgery (after I’m done having kids)....really enjoying the idea of the gentle c-section🤔

I honestly don't think there is such a thing as a "gentle csection". Csections are major surgeries and having too many can weaken your uterus causing it to be unsafe to be pregnant anymore after a certain amount of times having it done... The recovery is a lot harder than a vaginal birth and it's very painful which will make it harder to care for your newborn without help. You wont be able to shower facing the water for a couple weeks or take a bath or swim, and the incision area will never be the same again, it'll always hurt now and then or just remain numb. You also have to wait longer before you can have sex again because of increased risk of infection... Unless it is completely medically necessary, I really wouldn't suggest a csection, a lot of csection moms like myself would agree.

@ladyblauvelt.skysmomma, I think she means the gentle type of c’section where they don’t yank the baby all the way out, they pull out the head and let the baby sort of wiggle out of the incision .

@girlygirl1988 they actually do that? But I mean it's still the same thing... it's still a csection, whether the baby is pulled out or.. wiggles out I guess... it's still a major surgery

@ladyblauvelt.skysmomma, yeah I think they call it gentle because it’s supposedly less traumatic for the baby to ease their way out

@ladyblauvelt.skysmomma, I have a rectovaginal fistula (hole connecting between vaginal and anal wall so feces and gas pass through) from an unnecessary episiotomy on top of 4th degree tearing from delivering my son, I have little to no perineum left (confirmed by an obgyn) and I have to have a surgery to fix that. Having a vaginal delivery will really only do more harm than good so yes it is medically necessary. Gentle C section starts normal with the sheet but you do skin to skin immediately after and all the same things you do with a vaginal birth.

@brooklynn_g2018 oh I see, then yeah a csection is probably best but it still sucks that you have to deal with that 😖 I didn't have an emergency csection with my son but they didn't let me hold him right away though which really upset me because I wasn't the first to hold him, his father was... But my body did go into shock and I was way too shaky to unfortunately 🙁

@ladyblauvelt.skysmomma, yeah that’s awful girl I’m sorry, and yeah unfortunately my son was very big and my doctor ignored me when I brought the issue up so when I went to another doctor she confirmed what was going on with the fistula and wanted me in surgery ASAP but I was moving and insisted on finding out more about it and the type of surgery I would need and possibly a specialist in the field before I have a surgery and don’t want to risk another vaginal after having it Incase there’s complications, and now that I’ve married I want the closest thing I can have to a vaginal birth so my husband can experience the “gentle” parts of a gentle c-section that you get with a vaginal rather than the no skin to skin and delayed cord clamping etc
