Ok so my soon to be 7 month old eats 12oz of baby food a day and she still drinks 3 to 4 8oz…

No girl! That’s perfectly fine, as long as it’s not irritating her bowels and tummy, and she’s happy and healthy you’re fine! She just might have a great appetite! My son refuses to touch most food and has a super fast metabolism and is skinny, where as my nephew has been an eater since he was a few months old and he’s a chunky monkey lol. Every baby is different so just keep that in mind

My son eats 2 jars of baby food a day and 6 oz sometimes 7 oz of milk an hour after he eats his baby food and when he doesn’t eat baby food and I give him rice when I am eating rice too he also drinks plenty of water a day.

@jaxxonsmommy2015, ok lol. They only provide 7 cans of formula and she’s on her last one already. I’m thinking when she eats baby food she’ll cut back on the milk. But that wasn’t the case

@president.mommy.on.board., my daughter eats a 4 oz cup of food and drinks a 8 oz bottle at the same time. And she does that 3 times a day but if she’s up past her bed time she’ll drink another 8 oz bottle before bed

My son eats a lot to. He's almost 7 months as well. 5-6 sippy cups of formula 6 oz each. 2 bowls of oatmeal for breakfast, puffs for a snack, a pouch and either a jar of baby food or whatever we are eating for dinner. The past two days he's only eaten oatmeal and drank his formula. Like said as long as she's still drinking her formula and Its not bothering her all is good

@mommyof_2woprincesses, honestly I’m sure I’ll get bashed for this comment but add a scoop of baby oatmeal/rice cereal to her bottle to thicken it just a little (not much) and it’ll stick in her belly longer so she won’t be going through as much!

My son has to eat before bed too. I try to give him some milk before I turn the lights off because if not he will fuss even if he ate like 30 minutes ago so I just give him 1-2 ounces so he can go to sleep. I don’t give him the same amount of milk as an 30 minutes ago because he can choke on his milk if it comes up.

@jaxxonsmommy2015, I did that with my oldest. My only problem is when I put it in there it’s so thick that it won’t get through the nipple and she gets mad.

@president.mommy.on.board., my oldest daughter use to be like that. But my youngest eats every 4 hours so I try to feed her a few hours before bed time and she goes to bed around 10 and she’ll sleep until 12pm which is shocking to me

@brooklynn_g2018, lol I tried that too. Those dr brown bottles are just not cutting it. I probably just get a different nipple cause she needs this bottles. But I’m definitely gonna try that cause the cereal is just going to waste sitting in my cabinets and it’ll save a lot of money

Give her an avent sippy cup that help with gasses

@mommyof_2woprincesses, maybe just get a few of the cheaper ones and use those for the thickened bottles instead of using the dr brown bottles, and if it’s a normal bottle use the dr Browns, good luck! Hope you get it sorted out☺️

@brooklynn_g2018, the dr brown bottles help with her gas. I could just buy some cheap ones and just use the nipples 🤔🤔🤔

@mommyof_2woprincesses, I’m sure you can find some nipples that are similar that are cheap to use in replacement for the nipples on the dr brown bottles!

My son is also picky with his nipples. He only like the mam and avent nipples. I’ve tried dr brown but he didn’t like it but would still eat from it since I didn’t change his milk to another bottle so he learned to eat from it. He uses a sippy cup from nubby so far he loves it. He has one for water and one for his milk. I have to get one in another color for his juice.

@president.mommy.on.board., I believe she likes the dr browns nipples because they’re just like her pacifier nipple. But I’m willing to try anything because she’s eating a LOT lol

I’d say don’t stress it too much. Does he belly get really gassy?

Baby food does not replace formula. Babyfood is just for practice right now. They may ingest it, but they do not have the digestive enzymes to break down and process the nutrients they need. They need the nutrients that are broken down in formula or breastmilk. WIC isn’t meant to supply all her formula, just to help you provide it. So you shouldn’t be judging her milk intake by how mane free cans you get. Baby is hungry, feed formula. Solids are just for developmental things right now, not nutrients.

Also no food in bottles. Cereal included. That’s a choking hazard. And the. You’re filling her belly with things she cannot break down and digest. Formula, formula, formula.

@laniejay, her doctor is the one that told me that if she starts eating baby food then she wouldn’t be drinking so much milk. And so did the nurses at the wic office. That’s why they give us 7 cans because the other cans are replaced with baby food.

@mommyof_2woprincesses, that’s good that she’s not gassy. Just try and see other sippy cups she can use.

@mommyof_2woprincesses, they’re incorrect and going against the recommendation of the AAP and the WHO. Solids do not replace formula.
