Glucose test tomorrow at 2:30 and I didn’t get any instructions? Anyone got advice on what to do and expect?!

Just have a light breakfast, nothing really sweet

- No food or water after midnight. I forget. I think you’re to drink your drink an hour before your lab time. Do you have the drink ? You’ve got to down it. Lemon lime is by far the best! 😅 it’s like a stale flat sprite 🤷🏻‍♀️

Every clinic does it differently but my OB said not to fast or alter my diet. This was the info included on my visit summary.

@beccaaalynnn11, i was told they would give me the drink when I arrived🤷🏼‍♀️ that’s all I was told lol.

- Can you call and ask ? I’ve never known anyone whose doctor allowed them to eat.. the test is to see how your body handles a load of sugar. If you’ve had food or water, then that will greatly alter the results of the test which could prove dangerous later in pregnancy. Yeah, my first doctor did it like that. I showed up. They watched me drink the syrup. Then I sat for an hour before they drew blood.

My OB told me I could fast or I could eat. I had mine at 9am and I ended up eating waffles smothered in syrup before going in. Passed mine with flying colors. But call and ask if your worried.

I was also allowed to eat before mine. Unfortunately I failed my 1 hr and just did my 3 hour fasting one today. We shall see.

I have my 3 hour tomorrow and I’m dreading it 😂👎🏽🤮 I didn’t have any instructions besides a light breakfast the morning of the 1hr.
