@hthomas0308, my daughters pedi never said she had one either till I figured out she did and mentioned it then it was confirmed.
It’s where that little flap thingy on top of our upper gums connects to the top of our mouth. A normal one will be high up. With a lip tie the flap is all the way down touching the bottom of the gums. It ends up between the front two teeth causing a gap. I hope I’m making sense lol
@hthomas0308, a lot of pedi’s don’t deal with lip ties that’s why they never notice one with children. If you look at his and compare it to other lip ties pics off google or even just compare it to your own gums and you feel like he has one you can bring it up to the pedi to go about fixing it
@hthomas0308, it’s a quick procedure takes less then 5 mins if the child can hold still they will numb the area and cut it. My daughter never wants to sit still so we decided that we didn’t want her to be put Under because that’s surgery. When she’s a little older and understand that she needs to stay still for a couple mins that’s when we will let them fix it. It hasn’t caused issues with her feeding. But a lot of other moms I spoke too said that the kids with lip ties did have issues with feeding from birth. So it all depends on you just keep watch out to see how he’s doing with feeding and later on speech ☺️
@its.sarah, I never heard of that either till this app. My sone is 16 months and my husband asked me if his will make a gap between his teeth. Me not knowing said he will be fine. But now seeing urs and OP pics, I wonder if my son has it.
