They should know to take the baby out once it pooped because that happened to me and they were like ok we gotta get the baby out it just pooped not the exact words but I also had to get pitocin I wouldn’t open but as soon as the pitocin started I got to 9 quick and it was showtime you will b ok!!!! Sure u will b pushing by the time u read this

And your water broke as well which means you should have progressed from 1cm and mama don’t be ashamed to have a c section! It’s still a natural process and your still giving birth to your child. Do what you feel is best done seek opinions from other people

And also it took me 1 hour to jump from 5 to 9 so I’m your case if the pitocin isn’t working I would seek other options but at the end of the day the decision is up to you

They might just give you one anyways and if baby popped the should definitely get him out cause if he swallow it that won't be good

They didnt give me one, and my daughter pooped in me, but i also had a time limit before they would do one

My son had pooped as well as soon as they realized they were preparing me for a csection because it’s very dangerous, the dr was already in surgery and by the time he was done my son was ready to come so I didn’t need a section. He did swallow some and was in the nicu.

At my hospital they are now saying that while yes, it is dangerous when baby poops and ingests it, it’s not the end of the world. I had two friends whose babies pooped and they were born on their own time perfectly healthy nothing wrong with them at all.

Also, just because you’re on pitocin doesn’t mean your going to progress multiple centimeters in an hour. I was on pitocin and in labor for almost 24 hours. It takes time and as long as baby is being monitored and is stable they should let your body do what it needs to do. They can replenish your water with a uterine catheter if they need to. Don’t stress it’ll only make things worse and if you end up with a csection that’s ok too! Whatever is best for baby!

When your water breaks they have up to 24 hours with no in utero infection. I believe the time is shortened if there is meconeum present. Good luck!

This happened to me. I did 38 hours of labor with Elowyn. We both got an infection and her heart rate dropped with my first push. We were almost rushed for an emergency c-section, but the team was able to stabilize her in utero. I was on IV antibiotics for the last few hours of my labor and then, Elowyn had to receive IV antibiotics after delivery. Very traumatic for all of us. I got my VBAC, but I delivered a TON of meconium. Do what you feel is best and listen to your doctors. If I hadn't trusted my OB, I would have a second cesarean.
