Saw a mom the other day bragging about how she had her daughter at 37 weeks and how she was perfect.…

yeah...i wish i could have my child at 37w but i wouldnt want her to be 4lbs thats waaaay too small

My son was only 5pounds 4oz when he was born at 37 weeks. But I had a lot of complications during my pregnancy and I’m too tiny as it is for my baby to grow while he was inside. So I was induced. It took him awhile to gain weight too. He grew more than one pound in a month, but we don’t know her story or what the issues was as to why her child only gained one pound. To her, the baby is perfect because it’s her child. No harsh feelings or anything, but it’s hard to judge without knowing the situation.

I had my daughter at 39 due to complications. She was 5lbs 11oz and she was perfect to me but i would never brag about that because I know she wasn't where she was supposed to be😣 sometimes I feel like some mom's are in competition to see who can have baby first no matter the risk factors...I don't know her story but I understand where she means her baby is perfect to her

Some people just have smaller babies . Not everyone can control it . My friend gave birth at 38 weeks because she was such a small person and her body literally wasn’t letting her baby grow anymore and she was 4 lbs as well. And my doctor said normally babies only gain one pound in the first month of life , a lot so gain more but if your baby only gains a pound like that’s normal and okay. After their first month they usually go through a growth spurt . Why did my doctor tell me this ? Because he was amazed that my so. Gained almost 3 pounds at his one month and explained this all to me . Not all babies are the same . Stuff happens and they come out small. Most twins are born at that weight range . It’s not malnutrition, just a small baby.

All 3 of my kids were born between 36-37 weeks my littlest was only 6lbs he's actually still small for his age and hes almost 3. I was only 5lbs when i was born at 38 weeks so i guess it all depends on the mom and all

I was born full term and only weighted 5lbs 5oz. My daughter was born at 37 weeks and weighted 7lb 2oz. Every baby is different.

My girls are measuring quite small. I’ve done everything possible to try and get extra nutrition in but it feels rather out of my control how much they will end up weighing at birth. I spent from 6 weeks to 22 weeks throwing up all day everyday which didn’t help. I hope to be able to carry them to 38 weeks but that too seems out of my control 🤷🏼‍♀️

All children are perfect regardless of how they are born or not born.

My son didn’t even gain a pound his first month. He lost a pound his first three days and it took like six weeks to get him back up in weight 😩 it was terrifying. Now he’s a little chunk lol

Of course she felt her baby was/is perfect! Every mother does. Some babies are just small.

@lovefaithkindness My son was born 4lbs and 14oz and we were discharged after the normal waiting period of two days and he was 4lbs 11oz.

@bay_73 My perfect son was born at 38 weeks at 4lbs and 14oz. He experienced some delayed growth thanks to a condition of his umbilical cord not due to negligence.

All women are different. I naturally have 10 pounders, my sister has 5 pound babies at full term, n im induced....so youre judgement is off, and instead of insulting other moms we should be standing together. A team of women is stronger than an army of men. And you are different but it doesn't make you right or them wrong.

@lovefaithkindness it has nothing to do with weight and everything to do with health and lung maturity. There have been babies under 1 pound survive because they were healthy.

My little girl was born at 37 weeks weighing 7lb 12oz. My son was born at 39+6 weighing the same. So it does depend on many different things. I would not have induced my baby that early unless it was medically necessary.
