Wow, seems like girls are getting it younger and younger!! I didn’t get mine until I was 17 🤦🏻‍♀️ Late bloomer over here! But yeah, definitely need to have “the talk”. I can’t imagine the fear she must have had seeing blood and not knowing why it was there. Even if you don’t have the full on sex talk, at least explaining how her body works and what it’s doing will be helpful to her. Let her know how normal it is so she knows not to worry. If she has a phone, even downloading one of the period apps could make it kind of fun for her. She can learn to track it along with any symptoms, etc. That’s what we did with my niece when she started at 11 and she looked forward to it every month! 😂

@babydiehl2016, I’m not the “main mom” lol but she has expressed that she feels more comfortable talking to me than talking to her biological mother. I still txtd her anyway and let her kno(I wouldn’t wanna miss that moment in my daughters life) but she didn’t respond. Definitely will be buying some sort of book come Monday . Smh she’s only 9 😩😩😩 I could cry right now

She may not even have another period for a while. My niece was 9 when she first started and didn't have another legit one until 11. Yes, I'd talk with her. I wouldn't go into detail about sexual intercourse but just skim the surface of "this is how our bodies work to give us babies when we are ready".

@lovelily, yea I remember getting mines at 11 and then getting a “legit” one at like 13 and I think we’ll save the REAL sex talk in about 4 or 5 yrs because that’s how long I’ll need to wrap my head around it lol
