Hi girls iv been in and out of pain for over a week and last night was the worst not as bad today but still some pains im due the 20th next week and at the point i cant cope as didnt have this pain with my others (feeling horrible) so messaged the modwife this morning see if she can do a sweep asap and has booked me in tomorrow morning if i dont no in labour b4 hand...
Anyway question is how much sussess is with this sweep and does it really hurt? Hows it done? Never had it b4 need advise please girls xxxx

I am due the 20th too... I had mind done on Monday and its didn't work. Its a sussess of 1 in 8 I think I read. Basically they will do a vaginal examination with there fingers, if your cervix is open they will be able to sweep the membrance away from the wall. It can be painful, in my experience it was to bad, was just uncomfortable and wasn't the nicest experience, but hey we gotta push there babies out so it can't be that bad right.... I have had pains on and off for over 2 weeks, even had some irregular contractions and my cervix still wasn't even open! Good luck hunni. Xx

Thank you hunni my midwife hasnt examin me yet so hoping when ahe does all be good news but i will be asking her to book me in to be induced monday or tuesday if sweepoent work im in so much pain its unreal babes never had this with my others and starting to feel like crap :( xxxx

The first one I had was just a little uncomfortable but the second one was really bloody sore but I went into labour the next day so it worked, good luck xx

Thank you hun im also not 100% sure if baby head down anymore just how im feel8ng little one lay but im hoping im wrong so im hoping midwife with examine me say she head down and sweep a seccess but if bubba not head down i may be ruahed for c-section but either way bubba be hear hopefully within the week fingers crossed all goes well xxxx
