Is two an ok age to start “food training” and by that I mean not making him something special but only offering what’s for dinner. I’ve been so worried about him just getting food and eating that I think I’ve made my son a picky eater 😩

Yes. I guess we started at 6 months. Madeline eats everything or at least tries it.
This house is not a hotel or restaurant to have separate meals for a child.

Yes I would start now. My kids are 5 4 3 and 19 months. We have never made them their own meal for lunch or dinner (or if we have a big family breakfast) they always say what everyone else eats or you don't eat. All my kids eat everything. We dont have 1 kid that's picky.

My daughter eats what is at dinner or doesn’t eat at all. I do make special accommodations for things she doesn’t like. For instance, no meat with spaghetti, she likes raw vegetables instead of cooked, etc. She never goes to bed hungry. She ends up eating.

I started with my son once he started eating solids....he also has a deficiency that makes him allergic too a lot of foods! He tries everything and if he doesn’t like it 🤷🏽♀️ at least he tried ! But I don’t make anything special for him he eats with us 95% of the time n if he doesn’t like what I made he gets cereal or a sandwich but it’s rare.

Our kids have never had an option of having their own meal, they eat what we eat and have great little palates. Fish, sushi, steak, chicken, pasta, veggies, fruit. You name it. My MIL catered to my husband and his special dinners and it took me a few years to break him 🤣👍🏼
