Taking Noah to be screened for pre school I know he will have to go because he’s 4 and a half and can’t count I’ve practiced with him so many times but my almost 3 year old can count to 10

My eldest daughter struggled ALOT. we had her evaluated, around 4 though the Browns testing. I was told they are very young to be testing at that age and she did good for her age. But I knew something was different about her. She’s now in grade 6 and finally grasping things. This has been her BEST year ever....they do come around. But here in Canada it is best to catch any possible learning disabilities young before they are full swing in the school system. I always worried she’d just be a number and her needs wouldn’t be met. When she started school it was tough. The school was difficult to deal with. So we switched and moved boards. The board we are with now has made all the difference they really advocate for her and get her all the help she needs. Stick to your gut. My doctor used to brush things off when I’d ask for referrals as “she’s young” “she’s not interested” etc. I knew something was off around 3-4 years old...it pays to stick to your gut. It turned out to be a hearing impairment....it set her back years.
