My son had dry and irritated ball sack a couple weeks ago and it comes and goes now. The worst part is the first thing he does when he gets in the tub is scratch his balls until they bleed. I’ve tried many different ointments and now resorting to a diaper in the bath so he can’t scratch them.... I don’t know why he’s doing it other than they’re itchy 😔 Help!
@kristinajohnson6, almost every time he had a wellness check we have to go for sickness a few weeks before. It's become a joke, "see you in a few weeks! Haha"
He's had yeast on his butt and ball sack but never as bad as that.
@kristinajohnson6, oh I understand that I had the exact same scenario, not to mention I had to take him in on three different occasions bc I couldn’t get his rash to clear up. Although if it’s really that itchy I think the doctor can hopefully prescribe something more fast acting.
@roth1321, @mamabird228, @c.r.a.i, Thanks Ladies. I figured I should bring him but was hoping to not bring him twice this month since he has a wellness check on the 29th. But that’s too far out to wait.
Doctor! My son has such sensitive genital area too. Every day religiously I am adding some type of lotion to help keep the irritation down. Depending on how things are looking I with use a 1% hydrocortisone cream and cover with Vaseline or AD, or for the yeast I will use a lotramin (used for athletes food, doctor and pharmacist said it was ok for use on the genitals) - although doctor can prescribe a better anti fungal. His got really bad when he has a yeast infection though, didn’t go away for weeks and I knew it bothered him bc every day he’d wake up with his diaper off from the middle of the night. it’s also better to keep it aired out as much as possible. Warm moist areas grow fungus faster. I hope that helps!
